Terminal 3

Upon arrival at the Cancun airport, you will pass through immigration and present to the Mexican immigration agent your tourist card and your travel documentation (passport or birth certificate with raised seal). Afterwards you will claim your luggage and then proceed through Customs to declare any goods. You will press a button on a light resembling a traffic signal. A green light means that your bags will pass through without inspection; a red light means that your bags will be inspected. After passing customs, please exit the building and disregard all persons selling transportation and timeshare opportunities. Porterage at Terminal 3 is not allowed; luggage carts are available for all visitors inside the airport. Your IVI staff will be waiting for you beyond the crosswalk with a large personalized welcome sign. Our uniform is a turquoise-blue shirt, white slacks and a big smile.

Terminal 4

After that you will claim your luggage and then proceed through Customs to declare any goods. You will press a button on a light resembling a traffic signal. A green light means that your bags will pass through without inspection; a red light means that your bags will be inspected. After passing customs, take the Travel Agencies / Ground Transportation Exit on the left (do not take the family and friends exit) and disregard all persons selling transportation and timeshare opportunities. Porterage at arrivals is not allowed; luggage carts are available for all visitors inside the airport. Your IVI staff will be waiting for you outside with a large personalized welcome sign. Note: Some commercial airlines will stop handing out immigration forms aboard their airplanes; we highly recommend you fill out the form(s) online previous your trip so you don't delay your immigration process when you arrive in Mexico.

Tourist Tax (Implemented April 1, 2021)
A usage fee that all international visitors (over the age of 15) must pay according to new regulations. This fee is approximately USD 12.00 depending on the exchange rate.
Tourists will be able to pay with a credit card before arrival when entering, or during their stay via the website VISITAX (www.visitax.gob.mx) or at the airport (cash).
On departure, each passenger must show their receipt at the airport filter before boarding.
